Really depend on the day. Of course my Mom's homemade mini cheesecakes are on top of the list. Typically chocolate is a good bet. And pie. Mmmm, pie.

Happy Bastille Day! Today the French celebrate the event that sparked the French revolution. In honor of our Francophone friends, what is your favorite French thing? Bonus points for answers en français.

A lot of my favorite literature is French. Of course "Le Fantome de l'Opera" is at the top of the list. Les Miserables is also great. In fact, most things by Victor Hugo are great (if a little verbose).

Well considering I have a tendency to pass out during intense heat, I stay inside. I like to have a tea or Jones Soda by my side, catch up on my YouTube subscriptions, read TV Tropes, or read a book. Also watch anime. Hooray for free online anime.

I recently (Wednesday) had Lasik eye surgery. For those who don't know, I had glasses since I was nine and since about Seventh grade I haven't been able to see a foot away from my face clearly. Between college and that I haven't had time or the ability to post. It's amazing what I can see already. I'm off my allergy meds which is a pain and I have two drops and tears for my post-op stuff. I have to sleep with goggles to next Wednesday (and hopefully no longer). So hooray! I'm seeing 20/20 out of my left eye and 20/15 out of my right.

I haven't done an actual update in forever. I think I neglected this in favor of facebook. whoops. well, first year done and have my class list for next semester. good gpa so far. waiting for book list. and financial aid. Getting lasik surgery at the end of the month. YAY! Missing my gamer buddies. They were more fun and funnier than the internet. They're spread out across the country. I don't know where they all live ( i could look at facebook but that would be smart). One is in Atlanta and the other in Oregon. Did a massive software update on my mac. Safari 4.0 is neat. Also miss comic shop and bookstore close by. And steady income. Why am I talking like Rorschach?

What's your favorite thing to order for takeout (or takeaway)?

View 500 Answers

I love ordering sushi. My order always includes Tuna and Avocado rolls, they're my favorite. I usually order a second roll, typically California rolls or Spicy Crunchy Yellowtail rolls. Sometimes I'll order both, but usually it's one or the other. Then I get Vietnamese Spring Rolls or Crab Rangoon. That is a good dinner.

Robert Frost speculated about the world ending in fire or in ice. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

View 502 Answers

A meteorite will smash into the earth, throwing lots of debris into the atmosphere causing a sudden second ice age. I noticed ice was missing so this is the most likely ice-y way to die. That or whatever 2012 decides to throw at us. I want the forgotten gods to come to earth that way no body will have expected it and it'd be interesting to see how people will act. That or somebody's reopening Pandora's Box.

Are you worried about catching the swine flu? Do you have a plan for avoiding contagion or dealing with quarantine?

View 501 Answers

Nope! The most cases are in NYC and even when I go home I'm six hours away. Plus, it'll be summer and hot, I'm not leaving the house much, I pass out and go boom! (I just took an 8:30 final that I'm pretty sure I did ok on but not great. I didn't go to bed until 1 am because of a paper and said final. I'm tired and maybe delusional). Besides, it sound like all these people went to Mexico and I'm no where near them or Mexico. And I don't eat pork that much anyway and when I do I make sure it's thoroughly cooked. This is a lot like Mad Cow: Order it well and you'll be fine! I didn't stop eating beef during Mad Cow (then again most of our beef is local or close to local). I'm still eating Italian sausage and hot dogs! (especially sausage for breakfast from Mickey D's since our fridge has to be out of our room tomorrow. I JUST BOUGHT MILK!!) So no, no fear.

By friend introduced to Repo! about a month ago. I looked it up on YouTube... and then bought the album on iTunes and will borrow the movie from him before I leave with any luck. And now I find myself randomly singing at the opera tonight (follow link above)

In case of linkage fail here are the lyrics:
I must be brave
Come, come what may.
Can I be saved? Is there a way...
At the opera tonight?

I've made my peace.
(No chance for peace!)

I hold no grudge.
(I'll end this grudge.)

I'm gonna sing...
(I'll stain the street.)

My final song (They'll run with blood.)
At the opera tonight. (At the opera tonight!)

One more hit for the show!
Make it fast!
(Take it slow.)

One more hit of the glow!
(Go get cut...)

For tonight's show--! (For tonight's show--!)
[ Repo The Genetic Opera Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]

Tonight I set the stage!
(Tonight we set the stage!)

My greatest play!
(My greatest face!)

All plans are laid. (My greatest rage!)

Pavi gets laid!
(All debt's are paid!)

At the opera tonight!

Repo Man! Repo Man!
(Repo Man, come take my eyes!)

At the opera tonight!

Repo Man! Repo Man!
(Repo Man, my eyes!)

At the opera tonight!

It's a toss up between the Super Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Tetris, and Final Fantasy II on the SNES. I loved all of these. Definitely wore out the Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge. Tetris is the most addicting thing in the world. We still have LoZ:ALttP. And we played FFII until there were saving glitches in all the files.

You finally have an excuse to use it—what userpic do you not get to use very often but can't delete because it's just that awesome?

This is Set Abominae. He was created by John Schaffer of Iced Earth and is the subject of their last two CDs. Basically, he's the god of the Setians who is supposed to destroy Man. It's their revenge, as Man killed most of their population 10,000 years ago or so, leaving only 10,000 surviving Setians. Yeah, they waited 10,000 years for revenge. But look at that guy! He just kicks ass!

I love a lot of macros. They just make me laugh. My favorites are the one's OverTheGun has in his YouTube profile. They're motivational posters that people made based off his vids and are just awesome. Otherwise, there's one with a cute little bunny standing on it's hind legs front paws in the air in a meadow. The caption is "RAWR" It makes me laugh and satisfy my cute quota.

1. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. The unabridged one. I will finish that sucker!
2. The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. I love it. (And my copy better be at home cuz it's missing in my dorm room >.<)
3. Paradise Poisoned by John Richardson. Also huge and also will finish!
4. The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling. It's by JK Rowling. How can I say no?
5. The Egyptian Book of the Dead. On the off chance I finish all those books before we're rescued/trip is over, I've always wanted to read this. I haven't had time so now it just sits on my shelf between Tuesdays with Morrie and the Bible (I do have a strange sense of humor).

PS The books by Mitch Albom would have been here but I can only take five and I didn't want to lose three slots right off the bat. It's all or nothing with those books, they're short.

It never actually happened to me. But I had some close calls when reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. There were a few times where I had to cover my ears and go "lalalalalalala."

Happy birthday, A. A. Milne! Not coincidentally, it's also Winnie the Pooh Day. Which resident of Pooh Corner do you identify with the most?

View 500 Answers

My favorite has always been Tigger because he looks for fun in everything and he's truly unique being "the only one." And he made his own theme song. Life is 10x cooler when you have your own theme song.

I also like Owl because he's so smart. And Eeyore is just loveable. Some consider him depressing, but, come on, he lives in a house of sticks with a leaf on top! You'd be pretty sad too if you lived in a stick house when others had real houses.

Today is the anniversary of the death of Elizabeth Short, also known as the Black Dahlia. What real-life murder story are you most fascinated by?

View 500 Answers

I'm interested in the Black Dahlia. I think the most interesting one is the Lizzie Borden case, because now the house is haunted. And the Jack the Ripper case because we still can't figure it out. I like how the butcher (or was he a doctor?) walked by there everyday and everyone said "No, it can't be him" and I say "Right, that's just too obvious. There's no way he'd do reverse psychology."

Happy Decemberween...I mean Christmas

Lots of fun this Christmas. I got four Wii games, including Animal Crossing City Folk and two new zappers and a replacement wiimote and nunchucks. Also got wii points and bought third episode of Strong Bad. And Elite Beat Agents. Now the question comes how much time I can find for them once classes start again.

And then there's reading. A Lion Among Mean, Tales of Beedle the Bard and Harry, A Life all beckon me. So does the candy...candy,candy,candy,candy,candy,candy,candy. Yeah I'll eat it eventually.

And the music. I'll get it all the time thanks to my iPod. I got Celtic Thunder Act Two, David Cook, Metallica and Jimmy Buffet. Lot's of fun.

And all sorts of other goodies. Including a Chia Pet. Yes a Chia Pet. It's grass for the cat. We also got a laser pointer for the cat. That's also very fun.

And Papa got the house a new TV and Bluray player. The Dark Knight will be so darkly beautiful. And Ghostbusters will be wonderful and Wall-E will be sooo cuute. Ok Wall-E is my brother's so we have to watch that before I go but still.

Happy Decemberween Thnikkoman! Errr...I mean Merry Christmas everyone!

I want to see The Spirit. This looks like a good comic based movie. And it has Samuel L Jackson. Which means the movie is great or will produce many a snake joke. I think it will be good as comics now have to live up to The Dark Knight. Alan Moore must be ecstatic.

Well, I'm really done with sociology now. I handed in the final yesterday. Probably will sell back the books in a day or two. don't know any of the other books i need to buy yet.

All my finals are this week. I'll never want to write another essay again. seriously, every one of my finals is mostly writing except math. But that's math and math is the root of all evil. But then I will sell most of those books. I never want to see plato again. ever. i'll keep my huge perf book though, it has history and some really cool plays in it. maybe i'll bring it home and give it to the drama club. or maybe i'll keep it.

and to top it all off i'm honest to god sick. i went home and came back on sunday. monday i was hacking. i'm still hacking. i've almost consumed an entire back of halls and almost got to the new box of cold-eeze. i took tylenol last night and that didn't help much. hot liquids seem to help. well any liquids, even luke-warm dr pepper help, but the hot ones especially.

but i manage. i went to work yesterday and suffered through by using said halls and hand sanitizer. i'm in the box office today so i'll use them again.

...

i want sushi for dinner. i really want sushi. wonder what time i get off? maybe i won't be hungry. i'm eating dinner at 5:30 and progresso may fill me up. but i really want sushi

...

snot tastes like crap when you cough it up

....

sorry about those last bits. that's the cray talking. college does indeed drive you out of your mind. and then your mind gets a mind of its own and starts driving itself to lala land. sad is when eight hours of sleep isn't enough to make you feel better.
